A mum has shared her own ‘humiliating’ experience with her spouse after McFly’s Danny Jones, who is married to wife Georgia, was spotted kissing Love Island star Maura Higgins
A woman who was left “humiliated” after her husband drunkenly snogged another woman has been left “saddened” by footage of Danny Jones kissing Maura Higgins.
The McFly singer was spotted smooching his I’m A Celebrity co-star – who recently split from Pete Wicks – at a BRIT Awards after party on Sunday. Angry fans have slated the singer over the move, as he is married to wife Georgia and the pair share son Cooper together.
One woman took to Mumsnet to discuss the ‘incident’, which she could relate to after her husband drunkenly cheated at a Christmas party. She took the forum with a post titled ‘would you forgive a drunken kiss?’ and penned: “Sadly seen the Danny/Maura incident. Really feel for his wife as I’ve been there. DH [dear husband] confessed to me he had had a drunken snog at his works Xmas do. Very humiliating.

“I would have probably divorced him if we didn’t have kids. It was really painful given it was ‘only’ a kiss. I remember just thinking how dare you. We all go out with friends and speak to members of the opposite sex who want to try it on. But there’s something called self restraint.”
The subject matter prompted lots of discussion from fellow users, who weighed in with their own experiences. One person said: “I forgave DH a drunken kiss many many years ago (I can’t remember how many but more than 20). We’re still happily married and it’s never happened again (as far as I know!) so I think it was the right decision.”
However, another said they could never forgive their spouse if they cheated, saying: “Nope, it would absolutely be over for me. Why stay when the trust has been broken?”
Someone else said: “A drunken kiss with a stranger – maybe? Not sure. Would consider forgiving. A work colleague at a Xmas do or a friend/someone you know/in public in front of everyone at the Brits – would not forgive.”
One person offered another perspective, explaining that they had once been the cheater in their relationship. They said: “I’ve been with DH for 20 years and he forgave me a drunken kiss 8 years ago. It’s never happened before or since.
“I was overseas for 4 months with work and went to an all-day bottomless brunch. I drank a frightening amount and passionately kissed a guy right at the end of the night. There was no back story with this guy.
“As soon as the kiss happened, I disappeared into the night, hammered, to no doubt get into an unlicensed taxi on my own back to my hotel (I don’t remember getting home).”
She concluded: “I told DH the next morning. In the 8 years since, I’ve had a strict 2 drink rule for work functions, and I’ve never broken it.”
